At Plumb BMC, we use a high-pressure water jetter (Python trailer Jetter) to clear blockages efficiently. Our setup delivers an impressive 26 litres of water per minute at 5000 psi, making even the most stubborn blockages a thing of the past.

One of the most common causes of drain blockages is tree roots. While they may start small, once roots find their way into your drain, they tap into a buffet of nutrients that help them grow, eventually leading to a complete blockage as they trap debris like toilet paper.

In this demonstration, we’re using a mustang roto spin nozzle. While the nozzle spins, the front jet cuts at an angle around the edges of the pipe, where roots typically enter. Once the roots are cut through, the two rear jets flush any roots and debris down the drain, ensuring a thorough clean.

Jetter Drain Cleaning Terms & Conditions

1. Service Description
High-pressure water jetting is used to clear blockages in drains and sewer lines.
A drain camera and locator may also be used to inspect and identify the cause of blockage and verify clearance after jetting.

2. Pricing

  • $180 inc. GST – Basic blockage (e.g. toilet, basin, or short section of pipe) where jetter and camera are not required. Includes up to the first 30 minutes.
  • $250 inc. GST – Drain inspection only (includes CCTV camera and pipe locator).
  • $450 inc. GST – Jetting service (includes call-out, camera inspection, jetting, and locating – first hour).
  • $75 per additional 30 minutes thereafter.
  • If jetting is carried out on the same day as an inspection, the $250 inspection fee will be deducted from the $450 jetting price.
  • If inspection and jetting are performed on separate days, both services will incur their own call-out and charge.
  • If jetting is required to complete the inspection or restore flow, the full jetting fee will be charged.

3. Drain Access and Condition

  • All accessible external inspection openings (IOs) must be clear and uncovered prior to our arrival.
  • If the drain is heavily blocked, full visual inspection with the camera may not be possible.
In these cases, the jetter will need to be used to clean the pipe and restore access. This service will be charged as per jetting rates.
  • Jetting is often a prerequisite to an effective camera inspection in blocked or debris-filled lines.

4. Risk of Equipment Damage

  • In extreme blockages, the camera or jetter may be fed into an obstructed or broken pipe.
  • If equipment becomes stuck due to conditions beyond our control (e.g. tree roots, collapsed pipe, foreign objects), the customer is responsible for the cost of recovery.

5. Tree Roots and Ongoing Maintenance

  • Tree root intrusion is a common cause of blockage.
Jetting may temporarily clear roots, but reoccurrence is likely unless further works (e.g. pipe repair or relining) are completed.
  • Regular maintenance may be recommended to prevent future blockages.

6. No Warranty on Blockage Recurrence

  • We do not offer guarantees against re-blockage unless full pipe replacement or repair is undertaken.
  • Drain cleaning restores flow but does not repair structural damage.

7. Payment Terms

  • All services are payable on the day of completion unless otherwise agreed prior to works commencing.
  • Invoices not paid on the day may incur late payment fees and interest as per our business terms.
  • Reports, footage, or further work will not be released or scheduled until full payment is received.
  • EFT, card, and cash accepted on site.

8. Limitations of Liability

  • Plumb BMC is not liable for pre-existing damage, pipe failure, or defects revealed during cleaning or inspection.
  • It is the customer’s responsibility to authorise the use of jetting equipment and understand its limitations.
